Pump n Pantry Donates to Pre-School Scholarships for 2008

Pump n Pantry Convenience Stores, headquartered in Montrose, has provided a $7,000 donation to the Pre-School Scholarship Program administered by The Community Foundation of Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties.  This year these scholarships will assist more than 60 students attending eleven Pre-Schools in The Community Foundation’s two-county service area.  Pump n Pantry has a long tradition of community support running through two generations of family ownership.  Scott Quigg, President of Pump n Pantry, states “This is a perfect example of a local donation staying in our region to benefit local families. We are very pleased to collaborate with The Community Foundation in helping to provide this tuition assistance.” In the four years The Foundation has administered Pre-School Scholarships hundreds of families have benefited from this program, and although all scholarships have been awarded for this school year it is intended the scholarships will be offered again next year.
